Founded in 2002, Core Synergy Group (CSG) is a small minority owned and operated consulting firm. As a small Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Section 3 firm located in the metro Washington, D.C. area,

we are experts in urban community building and transformation consulting.

Our firm specializes in helping nonprofits,housing agencies, Community Development Corporatiions, and small to medium size organizations and resident associations positively transform urban communities. We have an extensive successful track record of strengthening local neighborhood, city, county, state and Federal urban community building and community transformation efforts, We also have extensive expertise developing policies and procedures to advance community building outcomes.

Errol ShorterSenior ConsultantErrol has extensive knowledge of public and indian housing, youth build, and public housing investment, particularly as it relates to HOPE VI, community and supportive services, resident relocation, community technology, green jobs,broad band utilization, Neighborhood Networks grant writing and planning, along with section 3 planning , training and implementatiuion.Errol Shorter holds a Bachelor of Psychology Degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Leon Rock, M. Ed.Principal ConsultantRock has assisted hundreds of housing agencies and nonprofits increase their efficiency, manage change, and overcome challenges. Rock has worked with Federal and state agencies along with nonprofits to recommend policy guidance on various aspects of housing, education, and community transformation projects. He has worked on programs such as HUD's HOPE VI, Resident Opportunities to Self Sufficiency, Section 8, HUD and state 203 Programs, Moving to Work, HUD Drug Elimination, Neighborhood Networks, Section 3 Training, DC public Schools, Special Education Projects, along with US Department of Education, HHS, Labor, Justice, and other HUD best practice programs.His expertise also includes nonprofit board development, public housing personnel executive searches, transition management, needs assessments, strategic planning, fund development, and grant writing for nonprofits and housing agencies. As an adult learner Rock is a graduate of various elite education programs, including Harvard Universitiy/Circle Associates, "Joint Center for Inner City Change." He is also a graduate of a number of drug and alcohol prevention and education programs, including; Yale University, Drug and Alcohol Dependence Institute, and the Vanderbilt University Drug and Alcohol Recovery Training Program part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Fighting Back Drug and Alcohol Reductiuon Initiative. Rock holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts, College of public and Community Service, and a Masters Degree in Community Service Management. from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts..
Tremin R.F. White Senior Project Management ConsultantTremin White is a Project Management Professional with extensive proposal writing and management experience. Her high quality, highly focused proposals are well researched and always delivered on time. Tremin’s eight years of experience encompasses RFP/solicitation research, proposal costing, business and technical writing, process improvement, and some project management. She has a proven track record in the proposal field, which has helped her develop a sharp eye for finding the right opportunities and conveying messages in a focused and concise manner. Tremin holds a Masters of Business Administration, with honors, from University of Baltimore. She is a certified Project Management Professional and an active member of the Project Management Institute.

Angela RockPrincipal ConsultantAngela serves as a Principal Partner with Core Synergy Group. She brings over 25 years of professional public relations, marketing, data management, and health services experience in both the public and private sector. Angela previously served for many years in public relations with a boston Public Relations firm, Eastern Exclusives, after which she served as a member of the Public Relations Team in the Public Relations office of The Washington Post. for the past 15 years angela's work has concentrated on health issues, including enhancing HIV and sickle Cell counseling, testing, and treatment. She has been involved in the management of various clincal trials and research, including addressing issues of stigma, while strengthening community engagement in developing and implementing cost-effective and successful prevention strategies.Angela is a graduate of Boston Business College, she also attended Northeastern University and the University of Maryland, She has received clincial research and health study certifications from the National iistitute of Health (NIH) and Howard University.
Calvin Crisp, Jr.IT ConsultantCalvin is a Network Systems and Network Operations Center (NOC) consultant who provides software, hardware, and computer help desk consultation to nonprofits and businesses. Calvin's extensive certifications include; MCP, (Microsoft Certified Professional) MCSA (Microsodt Certified Systems Administrator (MCBA) Microsodt Certified Database Administrator) and MCSE, (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). He is also a CompTIA Network + Certified Professional. Galvin received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Winston-Salem State University.

Donald S. Robinson, Jr.,Senior ConsultantDonald guides nonprofit organizations, local governments and faith-based organizations in order to reach their goals of providing services to families, while revitalizing neighborhoods and communities.Donald has been respionsible for the implementation of comprehensive self suffiency programs with a 9.3 million dollar budget that provided over 133 familes a broad range of counseling and supportive services for residents at two HOPE VI sites in New Orleans. donald is a graduate of loyala University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

1. CSG provides a full range of consultancy services on various aspects of community building and community development. We provide full lifecycle support, from initial planning and design, development, program implementation and evaluation.

We provide strategic planning, program development, community technology services, housing security technical assistance, grant writing, grant management, nonprofit web design and content management, case management, community action planning and other technical assistance and community transformation services.
